Baked beans work really well in a chilli, far better than the obligatory red kidney beans!

I'm not a fan of baked beans. I do cook them for my family southern style with added spices then topped with bacon. Everything is better with bacon!
It's quite clear that Americans and Brits have a quite different relationship with baked beans!

I do not eat them as much as when I was younger, but I do enjoy them. Usually they are plain. No sex, that is some serious food
If in a hurry for a meal, try baked beans on toast. It's delicious.

    Beans, beans, the musical fruit
the more you eat, the more you toot
the more you toot. the better you feel
so have beans for every meal.

Sang that little ditty quite often as a child. My taste for baked beans has waned over the years. I rarely eat them.
That's a great little ditty in honour of baked beans.

Can't say I'm fond of "baked beans" Spunky, and much prefer something like Bovril on toast - or better yet, toasted cheese - Yep adore cheese! We recently had a Cooking Show on TV, and it was all about using tinned foods like baked beans - we do have "Heinz", but we also have "Koo", and they called it, "Cover your plate with Koo"!
I've never had Bovril on toast. Bovril is something I order as a hot drink at a very cold football game!
