New Cell Phone Buying a new cell phone should be a simple thing...pay, charge up make a 5 minute call to customer service and got a cell phone again. NOT SO...............I bought a new $200 Samsung cell phone paid another $100 for two months of phone service.....waited till new billing cycle with T mobile is due....call them to cancel service in a week. Week is up, I want to keep the old phone number so I call Straight Talk and it's Tracphone customer service from quess where???? Can you say INDIA? After three calls I finally get one who speaks understandable english......telling him I want to transfer my old number to this brand new phone from which I am speaking....he says ok, first please answer a security question. OK, seems reasonable enough. 8 questions later, I am getting impatient. He tells me ok, I deactivated the sim card for the phone you are talking to me on and will now transfer your old number. After several minutes of quiet, he comes and tells me, you will have to have a new sim card as the one in the phone is now deactivated. I am not happy as he as killed my current sim card before he transferred my old number and now cannot make the transfer. Gonna go get a new phone refund from WalMart then a trip to ATT to get a new phone and hope there is some possibility of keeping my old phone number. Thank You...bill clinton for nafta creating jobs overseas that pay American companies $3 a day for each new job created. Also, my insincere thanks to the sad excuse of customer service in India. |

New Cell?????....I have an original Nokia, it is a telephone, no camera, no data, it will do text, but all I need is a "telephone" I have had this phone for 14 years, it works good, it has a signal when a lot of the new "smart" ones don't, I got a text from ATT back a month or so..." you now have unlimited text", hell i'm 73 why do i need text , all I need is a phone to cal 911 when I fall over and "can't get up". now this is not the end. the other day I get another text from ATT. " your 2G telephone will not be supported after Dec 2016" .... this is nice of them to tell me that my perfectly good working telephone, That I paid for, will "not be supported" at the end of the year...man this sucks, I don't have a need for one of those "smart" things, I guess I just drop ATT at $60 per month and get me a Boma free, I am retired, I am fixed income, why not let someone else pay for it... Never in my life, have I asked for of expected something for free, I worked full time till I was 68... now it seems like something as simple as a real cell phone is not suppoted by the big GIANT... life in this 'Changed World" is a bit different, I hope my grandchildren can do as well as I did, but I think not.....to all, it's 1:00AM, I am tired, I am upset, My GF just spent the afternoon with her GF....life sucks.... hope tomorrow the sun does come up.... have a nice day......
