charlie is in the closet when my brother plays the bagpipes, Charlie runs into the closet in my bedroom and pulls the door shut. something about the undertone of the bag makes his ears hurt. he loves his uncle but those pipes just about kill him. we've all adjusted pretty well but the holidays were odd with my niece bringing her man with her -whiny, demanding, gun toting, conspiracy theorizing, lazy assed piece of Connecticut entitled republican trust fund baby - not that there's anything wrong with that.. I nearly bit my tongue off while they were here I was being so nice. my made me swear never to allow him in the house again. Charlie peed in his sneakers. sighs. it's a terrible thing to meet someone you want to like and right away go...oh, ick. especially when your favorite girlchild in the world is in love with him. and then to hear him make her cry? three times??? he's lucky he left with his balls let alone his luggage. sorry. not at all what I intended for my first post in ages. guess I just had to clear the decks consider the decks cleared at least I hope so. I can't tell lately. I've been oddly off center for a while. oui. You cannot conceive the many without the one. |

Oh WE...so nice to hear from you. and so interesting that you end your post with "Oui" We live parallel lives...my only surrogate son...my Nephew...got married to a French sex columnist. I was SO ready to really like her...you know, she's a sex columnist - what's not to love? But I must say, while she's no gun toting Connecticut republican, I am simply not feeling it. He didn't even invite us to the wedding in NYC! Ostensibly because her wealthy Provence family would have been upset had WE been able to go to the wedding and not them? WTF? If the wedding had been in France, would I have been upset had they attended? Jeezus. Anyway, this is the thing. I will accept whatever comes because my love for my Nephew is beyond all reason and time. I will never give him up, even if I have to eat French camel dung to do it. I have never been a father, but I know a father's love. So hang in there dear one. Perhaps your Connecticut Yankee will spend some time in King Arthur's court... and my Marie Antoinette will bake a cake. One can only hope. So glad you're back T

Yucky...I totally know what you mean, if one of my nieces had a guy who made her cry, he'd be lucky to walk away in one piece.

It's great to see you! Poor Charlie! You do have me worried for your niece. If he made her cry with other people around, what does he do when they are alone? I hope you have talked with her... Never ignore those who care for you you will have lost diamonds while you were collecting stones

I just had to take a moment to comment on how well your description of the boyfriend created an image in my mind. I've met several of his kin down here in Texas. Hopefully she realizes that anyone who makes you cry that often is a waste of time.

What a happy surprise to see you back here, WE. I'm a not very frequent visitor (but more frequent than you, it seems) .... while I'm not happy with your report of crying niece, I am happy that Charlie made HIS disapproval known (I read it as C peeing in the BF's sneakers, not your brother's). Can your bro practice with a practice pipe (the fingerings only, without the drones or the bag)? It doesn't get the lung exercise but it gets the fingers coordinated, I'm told.
